Since I’ve now discovered why ReplayTV has gone backrupt twice and is now going out of business (ie. horrible customer service, ludicrious business model, and general abuse of clients), I decided to take another crack at getting MythTV to work (again) at home. For some reason, the tuner will no longer change to any channel other than GAC, so I end up with hours of country music videos instead of Daily Show episodes. Thinking that it may be due to the old software on the computer, I’ve replaced the media hard drive (up to 250 GB from 40 GB) and re-installed the server software. Now, it doesn’t work at all, but at least the blog is restored and functional.
So now I’m trying some new stuff. Like embedding music/audio.

Congrats to Rod and Kristin! After a very difficult several weeks, Victoria was born yesterday. Ten weeks early, but doing well. We’re looking forward to seeing grow and excitedly awaiting her homecoming!

I was listening to FM 100.3 this morning on the way to school to relax and get in a good mood before going into class. This is the easy listening radio station that plays non-stop Christmas music starting the day after Halloween. Disclaimer: I don’t make a habit of listening to non-stop Christmas music, when I decide I want to hear a few holiday tunes every once in a while, I know where to find ‘em. Unfortunately, the music this year seems to be interrupted more often than normal for commercials… specifically, the ubiquitous “David Hall reporting for Rock Financial…” Well this morning, after the commercial break, the morning DJs came back on and started discussing last night’s “Desperate Housewives” and how this character is cheating with that character, but it’s not really cheating since they didn’t actually sleep together, and what was the definition of cheating anyhow…?
Sort of ruins the Christmas mood.
