Saw it. Liked it a lot, but it was still missing something. This movie was by far the darkest and goriest of all six, and had more action than all the others. The battles and visuals were fantastic and well directed… enough that they made you almost forget about the cronically-poor dialogue. I’ll admit that Lucas did a much better job this time around than the previous two movies, but it really does seem as though he’s using the special effect to cover up lackluster writing. I suppose it works great for some people (ie. Jerry Bruckheimer), but after I see a movie, the thrill from the effects wears off and I’m left with an impression of the actual story. This movie actually does a good job of tying in to the real trilogy, but I think that’s the best thing that I can say about it… it makes me want to watch the originals.
Absolutely a fun movie, and absolutely a must-see in the theater. But definitely not a life-changing experience… and definitely not for young children.

honeymoon pics going up
Posted by Jeff on May 4, 2005
Im putting the honeymoon photos up on Flickr. You may have to create an account to view them all, but its simple, and Flickrs cool. (Only a couple are publicly viewable, so you’ll need an account to see the 20 or so remaining ones.) I invited a few people already, but if you need to be added to my friends list, let me know.

back from Hawaii… still cold here
Posted by Jeff on May 3, 2005
Wow. After finally having made it out of Metro in the freak late-April snowstorm, we flew back into Minneapolis and then Metro to find… snow! Sheesh. Well, at least we weren’t missing the warm Michigan spring weather while we were there.
So, back into the swing of things now. Monday was unpacking and shopping day, and since we were still on Hawaii time, we stayed up until about 1:30am installing (and re-installing) the new under-cabinet microwave. This thing is crazy… it heats food AND rotates it! 30 seconds to reheat a cup of coffee is a far cry from the 3 minutes that I’m used to with the old microwave.
Today I went and picked up the new dresser that we picked out yesterday (at Art Van… shame, shame), and this evening was spent re-organizing the bedroom. So now I’m sleeping in a real bed instead of a futon and storing my clothes in a dresser instead of milk crates. And apparently, clean clothes are not supposed to be stored in a pile on the floor in anticipation of wearing them again soon. Married life is weird.
