For Marie’s birthday yesterday, we went to the second WC3 Living Legends Performance, featuring The Four Tops. Fantastic! These guys are entertainers in every great sense of the word. Great talent, great energy, and they played to and with the crowd like very few performers I’ve seen. Great show! And of course, Motown music is the best!

Turns out that coffee reduces your risk of Type II Diabetes.

Of course, diet and exercise helps considerably.

pushing bits faster

Huh. So I just learned some stuff. Like if I write a version of the system utility “cat” using mmap() instead of read(), it’s about 175% faster in Linux and OS X. That’s pretty cool.
